Meet the Doctor

Rosalia Saavedra, O.D.

Dr. Saavedra received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She received her Bachelor degree in Psycho-Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Saavedra completed her externships at Seymore Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina and Clinica de La Raza in Oakland, California. She is certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases as well as co-management of cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery. Dr. Saavedra is an active member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association and the Alameda-Contra Costa County Optometric Society. Dr. Saavedra has been practicing in the Bay Area for over twelve years and is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Saavedra enjoys spending time with her husband, Tony Gomes, and her two sons, Mitchell and Benjamin.

Meet the Staff

Maricela Jimenez - Front Desk/Insurance
                                  and Billing Coordinator

Maricela has been part of our optometry family for over a year. She has a vast amount of knowledge of both medical and vision benefits and insurance plans. She will be able to assist you with scheduling an appointment, obtaining insurance verification and authorizations. Maricela is fluent in Spanish.

Ana Yulo - Optician

Ana has worked in the optical industry for over 9 years.  She is certified by the California Para-Optometric Association as an optometric assistant.  When you come in for your appointment, she will assist you in selecting the best lens and frame for your visual needs.  She is very knowledgeable in the numerous types of lenses available and can help select the best one for your work, home, and recreational needs.  She will assist you in selecting the frame shape and color that best suits your face and style.  Ana is fluent in Spanish.

Gabriela Alvarado - Optometric Assistant

Gaby is our part time college student. She performs much of the preliminary testing prior to you seeing Dr. Saavedra. She is actively pursuing a nursing career unless we can convince her to switch to optometry. Gaby is also fluent in Spanish.
